Older Adults & Seniors Program
Aimed at adults aged 55+ this program offers a selection of activities to choose from each week. Activities are designed to create social connections, keep people active, promote life long learning and have fun. Some, like Games and Spanish Language lessons happen on a regular schedule. Other activities change from month to month based on what people are looking for. Staff can also make check-in calls and provide referrals to other services.
Some program fees apply and subsidies are available – please speak to the Adults & Seniors Coordinator for details.

The Applegrove Lounge @ Duke
A warm and welcoming weekly drop-in program where seniors can come together to relax, socialize, and have fun. Whether you’re into board games, cards, mahjong, crafts, or knitting, there’s something here for everyone. Bring your current project, try something new, or just enjoy a cup of tea and good conversation.

East End Food Hub – Auditorium
Drop-in anytime between 3-5 pm for our free Café for older adults aged 55+. Enjoy coffee, tea and light refreshments while you socialize, meet new friends or play some cards, board games or Mahjong. Most months it’s the same day so you can stay afterward for the free Nourish East End Community Dinner.
Please note: we are moving downstairs to the Auditorium in 2026.
Income Tax Clinics

We offer free income tax preparation for low income community members by trained Applegrove staff and volunteers. This service is provided from March to April by appointment only. We start taking appointments in February.
