Board Vacancy

Applegrove Community Complex is recruiting a Board Member for our dynamic multi-service, neighbourhood-based community centre. Board members are responsible for governing the agency, identifying strategic directions, deciding on policies, supervising staff via the Executive Director and managing the finances and revenue generation. Please see this notice for more information.

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

Thank you to all who attended our AGM on March 27. While an annual meeting is a requirement, our get-together is always a very special celebration of Applegrove’s work and our people.

We started with a complimentary supper and followed with the formal business meeting and provided care for children. Once the reports were accepted and new Board members selected, we recognized special people. Our Nellie Snow awards show appreciation to our volunteers. Other awards celebrated partnership and outstanding contributions to the organization.

In addition, Diane Walton, photographer, dog-lover, realtor and author of A Day in the Life ... Leslieville Lives, shared insights about the neighbourhood. The meeting closed with dessert and tea/coffee and ended with door prizes.

Board of Directors

As a not-for-profit corporation, Applegrove has a 10-member (currently 9) Board of Directors. As an agency of the City of Toronto, Applegrove has an 11 member Board of Management which includes all 10 (currently 9) directors plus a representative of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). We currently have a vacancy for a board member.

Applegrove's term for Board members is 2 years, to a maximum of 4 consecutive 2-year terms.

  • Sheila Cary-Meagher (TDSB representative, Board of Management only)

  • Mary-Margaret McMahon (City Council representative)
  • Andre Riolo
